My current 'book beside my bed' is a collection of love stories (or stories about love, I suppose, because some of them aren't exactly love stories!) put together by Jeffrey Eugenides. My favourite part, the thick, beautifully illustrated cover. I wandered around the bookshop clutching it in my filthy mitts, just feeling how heavy it was for a good ten minutes before I bought it. It is a highly, highly attractive book! And the content is fairly good too, it's a very eclectic collection of stories.

Princess Laya Plaits

These photos make me want to wear my hair in plaits all winter and drift around in white chiffon and lace, like a Victorian ghost. Plaits are my favourite bad hair day cure, second only to hats. And staying in bed.

Down With Love

Down With Love is definitely not one of the finest movies ever made, that's for sure, but the costuming is so bright and the kitsch factor so high I can't help but love it. I think it's something to do with the fantastic reverse colour coats that Renée Zellweger's character and her editor wear (bright yellow/houndstooth) and the matchy-matchy nature of her outfits. It's a soap bubble of colour!
