Change of Plans!
After an enormous drama over obtaining medication to fly (note to any anxiety ridden travellers coming to the UAE; they are REALLY tight about anxiety medication here) I had to change my flights and am here for another month. So…more sand, more desert and hopefully a little calm.

3 More Days!
Wow, only three more days. I can’t believe it’s been almost 3 months. My Mum says as long as the positives outweigh the negatives it’s all been worth it. So, intense stomach bug be damned, the rest was heaven.
The old souks, such eye candy!

Hafiz of Shiraz
I only have one week left in the UAE. I’m terrified, my anxiety has skyrocketed. Absolutely through the roof. I’m trying to take deep breaths and concentrate on getting rid of all the negative thoughts but it’s kind of like machine gun fire. My Mum says I should accept that even if I didn’t have an anxiety disorder I would be nervous about my first long flight on my own. I guess that’s true.
Onto Hafiz/Hafez, one of the best things we were introduced to in Iran. He was a poet (1315-1390) and we were told that you’ll find a copy of The Divan of Hafiz on every book shelf in Iran. He wrote so beautifully about love and life and his proverbs are quoted in everyday life.
“We have come into this exquisite world to experience ever and ever more deeply our divine courage, freedom and light!”
“This sky where we live is no place to lose your wings so love, love love.”
“Ever since happiness heard your name, it has been running through the streets trying to find you.”
“I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness the astonishing light of your own being.”

What A Beautiful Dream
Another favourite art blogger post!
This guy’s art takes my breath away, his tributes to Daul Kim are just beautiful. He has drawn stills from an imaginary film which remind me of a Murikami novel, a lost and isolated girl wandering the streets, looking for something or someone.

Rain in the Desert
Yes, it actually rained here yesterday. POURED. Like, every layer of clothing was saturated. We went to Global Village which is an awesome place where all the countries in the world have a pavilion where they sell products specific to their country(well, most, not sure Iran is allowed a pavilion!). It looked amazing, but after three minutes of entering it began to bucket down and we spent the next 20 minutes hiding in a perfume shop in the Saudi Arabia pavilion. It looks like an awesome place, hopefully we can go back when it’s sunny and I’ll put up some photos of the place in beautiful sunshine!
The Africa pavillion looked amazing. Shame everywhere closed when the rain started!
Hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve, this year will be magical!
