I love the Satwa area of Dubai. Satwa is one of the oldest suburbs in Dubai and has tons of great textile shops. I’ve become particularly obsessed with one little shop called Fida (opposite the Satwa Clinic if you’re ever in the area) that has beautiful big cotton scarves for 10dhs and huge ones for 20dhs. I plan on getting some kimonos made out of them now I have extra time here but deciding what fabric to use is so confusing. They’re all so bright and cheerful!
Currently watching Iraq For Sale: The War Profiteers. It’s about the private security forces and contractors in Iraq and the money behind it all. Absolutely fascinating. I feel that it’s always important to know how your government is spending your money.
